Winton Business Association Bowls - 30th Nov 2017

Winton Business Association Bowls

A great turnout on Wednesday 29th November with 14 teams taking part in our first business challenge to win the Winton A.A.C. House Relay Trophy. This trophy was first won in 1939 by Grimwoods Grocery Shop! Then again in1990 by Winton New World and 1998 by Winton Mitre 10. The trophy had been hidden away for many years and was found by the Molloys when they left Winton New World last year.

Thanks to Lisa Hay for picking up the challenge of organising this event for the Business Association to come together on a social occasion. After all the games, the final was played between Malloch McClean and PR Law, with PR Law overall winners and receiving the trophy. Many thanks to Bill Ward and the Winton RSA Bowling Club for the wonderful guidance and advice.

Winton Open Day another success! - 20th Nov 2017

Winton Open day 2017 was held on Sunday 19th November with loads of families coming out to enjoy the sunshine and activities. Shops were open with amazing specials that delighted even the smallest customer. The Plunket teddy bears picnic was a huge hit with loads of children dancing in the sun and many happy faces filled with joy. The memorial hall was filled to the brim with tempting goodies to purchase as well as the jolly man himself exciting children and hearing all their Christmas demands. The grand parade along the main street provided entertainment for all ages. They eagerly lined the street waving madly as the floats and machinery drove past.... so another year down. Can't wait to see what 2018 has on offer!
